Monica joined our team as an exceptional Project Manager for our highest profile efforts. She helped organize and oversee a complex partnership for our national foundation and I could not have done this work without her. Serving as a liaison between our organization, multiple partner, and the Office of the Governor and assisting me in serving the First Lady, Monica helped manage a variety of tasks ranging from event management to partnership and budget management. She did such an outstanding job that I hired her, years later, to support a large scale federal grant and project in Los Angeles. She is a trusted partner and leader with a tireless commitment to improving our communities - and the strategic vision to get it done.

    • Development and Communications Director
      • Nov 2019 - Mar 2020

Position ended due to pandemic shutdown 2020. In my brief time as Development and Communications Director I led a successful bourbon and chocolate fundraiser, started the migration of records to a robust cloud based CRM, and wrote an 18 month development plan based on budget projections. My final act was to apply for emergency funding to deliver meals to the most at risk seniors served by the agency during the lockdown. Funding was received. The Henry Hosea House is the only soup kitchen in Newport, KY and serves between 150 and 350 meals daily, free of charge, to anyone in need. Since 2012 I have won over $135,000 in grants on behalf of the Hosea House to develop and implement a pantry garden. I have led this work from the planning and construction phase through daily harvesting of produce. More than 200 volunteers have helped build and maintain the garden under my direction, yielding more than 550 lbs of food since 2012.
