    • Interconnect Wind Farm Project
      • May 2019 - May 2019

The Wind Farm Project was co-organised by FemEng of Glasgow University and Strathclyde University's Equate society.During this project, I worked as part of a team to design a wind farm that took into account not only the engineering aspects of the proposal but also the social and environmental impacts of a project like this. As a team we presented our proposal to panel of industry professionals at the SSE building in Glasgow which provided the opportunity to gain experience in networking with professionals in the field and other teams who took part.Mentoring sessions from females in industry assisted the project. This included presentations on the technical aspects of a wind farm and also mentoring from environmental consultancy firms. My role in the project focused on the environmental and social impacts of the development. The experience included writing a brief Environmental Impact Assessment, exploring the land use and species in the area, and researching the legalities of wind farm development in proximity to other developments.
