Few people have the opportunity to report to a lead who is a visionary and picker upper - but I did while working with Monica. For the past two years working at Kaizen collaborating with Monica on creating an EHR/tele-health platform that connects therapists & clients in a better setting, I see nothing but explosive growth and curiosity. As my first design lead in a formal setting, I see how Monica showcases her vision & pushes myself to think outside of the box and how eager she is to lead by example and is never afraid to get dirty with the rest of the team. While Monica was new to the healthcare space, she ingrained herself into learning and soaking as much information to prove that she can adapt quickly and channel that knowledge into a well designed product with the user in mind. Monica embodies the phrase

I've had the pleasure of managing Monica directly for almost 2 months now and have been consistently impressed by her research acuity, strong data analytics experience, and passion for the subject matter. We are conducting an independent research-focused exploration into the relationship between mental health and digital technology, with the eventual goal of designing our own mental health mobile app. Monica's role as a UX Researcher required her to design survey and interview questions, conduct remote interviews, and lead multiple affinity-mapping workshops for the rest of the team as we transition into the design phase of our project. I've been particularly impressed with Monica's strong data analysis skills; she's able to leverage her experience using Excel to quickly extract relevant patterns from large volumes of oftentimes ambiguous data. What is especially impressive is Monica's constant willingness to learn and participate in every aspect of the UX process. When she doesn't know a particular method or skill, instead of playing a more passive role, she proactively seeks to become more familiar by asking questions and learning on her own. Monica has been a reliable researcher with a clear drive for improving mental health accessibility who will be a strong benefit to any team she's a part of.
