Dr Monica Hill is an independent consultant, coach and facilitator. As an independent consultant, Monica combines her background of international diplomacy, business acumen and academic teaching and facilitation. She is accredited as a PDI coach and enjoys both small group facilitation and coaching. Until September 2016, she led the Global Educator Network team in the London office of Duke Corporate Education where, for more then 10 years, she worked closely with the project teams to identify the educators who best fit clients’ needs and objectives. Her role involved sourcing and interviewing potential educators, observing them in action and helping develop them through workshops and onboarding activities. Monica still maintains a strong link with many of the network and has built trusted relationships with a very broad group of educators, executives, industry experts, actors and speakers. Monica was a member of HM Diplomatic Service working in London, Moscow, Dhaka, Beijing, Brunei, Seoul, Colombo and Mumbai, dealing with political and consular affairs. She also worked in Sales and Marketing with British Airways in Abu Dhabi. Her academic career was launched at the University of Hong Kong where she taught English for Business Communication having qualified as a TEFL teacher at the British Council. Her PhD is in vocabulary acquisition and psycholinguistics and she wrote ‘Harsh Words’, published by Hong Kong University Press. She also co-authored ‘SpeakEasy: Oral Presentation Skills in English for Academic and Professional Use’. Monica’s passion for travel and intercultural awareness began with language study: French and Italian at university, Russian and German with the Foreign Office and numerous language courses in Beijing, Abu Dhabi and Hong Kong. Monica has a PDI coaching certificate, Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, M.A. from Glasgow University and Ph.D. from the University of Hong Kong. Show less
