  Tool Management: • Setting up of tools-drills, taps, roughers, shims and inserts • Utilising Zoller measuring machine to ensure correct height in line with CNC machine specifications. CNC Setting and Operating: • Setting of H5000 and 250 Hellers (Fanuc controls) for machining of raw castings into carriers for centre section of rear axles of Toyota, Ford, and GM model vehicles • Setting of squareness, hypoid offset and diff bearing bore depth • Run program on Zeiss, alternatively use AC Davis Gauge for measuring of first-off parts and obtain reports • Compare reports with drawing specs • make adjustments on special characteristics i.e. bore depth, hayoid angle, bore diameters, chamfer etc. • Check vendors and casting porosity • If all in order operate and run until batch completion • Monitor tool wear and tear, adjust offsets and replace inserts when required to ensure correct operation of machines and ensure minimal downtime • Utilising micrometre to measure diameter of parts • stop and fix to ensure no further damages to part in question • Attend to minor breakdowns • Ensure gauging frequency are met at all times, to wit, 1 in every 10 parts, alternatively 1 part every hour • Checking of service finish of parts • Accurate completion of paperwork. Act as shift team leader. Duties : - • Supervising 13 setter/operators in Toyota, Ford and GM sections • Assign workstations to employees for shift in line with manpower • Ensure production total is met • Hourly checks on employees • Do random checks during the shift to mitigate inter alia scrap • Report total production during and at the end of the shift to Group Leader • Booking machine breakdowns with the relevant maintenance department • Record absenteeism and arrange relievers where needed • Enforce discipline where needed • Regular housekeeping checks • Collect and manage reports and check sheets.
