Working for one of the biggest wholesale manufacturers in London, supplying womenswear for high street brands. I was responsible for amending patterns from first fit stage all the way through to production for a variety of accounts, juggling up to 6 accounts at a time. These accounts included Biba, Principles, Jaeger, Jacques Vert, Precis, Lipsy, Wallis, Evans, TK Maxx and Bonmarché. Where required I attended fit sessions working with customers’ buyers and garment technicians to ensure their needs are met in developing their products. I worked closely with the in-house machinists and sales/ design team to ensure the garment is factory friendly and cost effective. I also worked closely with the garment technologist who shared my accounts to ensure production procedures are followed in time and as smoothly as possible. Where necessary I assisted other accounts in the production team to ensure as a whole all deadlines were met. My day to day roles: • Checking first patterns/ sample created by the creative team • Attending fit sessions – Working together with customers’ buyers/ garment technologists • Amending patterns according to fit comments provided from customers – checking for any adjustments if necessary and liaising with customers’ technologist where required • Taking patterns off existing garments if requested by customers • Checking sealed patterns to ensure they are ready for grading • Checking graded patterns to ensure they have been graded correctly – amending if required • Updating sketches/ construction sheets following any amendments • Where required liaising with the factory for any pattern related enquiries Show less
