Currently in my second year serving Rural Action's Sustainable Agriculture program as an AmeriCorps member. I coordinate educational programs to support beginning farmers, write quarterly newsletters to 1400+ followers, facilitate conversations on social justice, co-lead Women Owning Woodlands, and manage the Chesterhill Produce Auction blog. During the growing season, I manage the Chesterhill Produce Auction office during twice weekly auctions, delivering friendly customer service and creating daily financial reports. As an Educator with Midwest Food Connection, I brought culinary and gardening adventures about healthful food into school classrooms in St. Paul and Minneapolis, MN. I worked at Roots Return Heritage farm for one growing season, helping in a variety of tasks including: weeding, laying straw, transplanting, harvesting, setting up strawberry tunnels, setting up electric fencing, cleaning and processing harvest, packaging and labeling harvest, cleaning tools, etc. In this position, I learned more about organic fruit and vegetable production, as well as good water and soil practices such as cover cropping and rotational planting. I worked as Youth Farm's Farm Steward in the West Side neighborhood, teaching cooking classes, organizing work on our farms, managing three urban farm sites, supervising a team of eight high schoolers, and implementing our summer program for 9-12 year olds.

For two summers I worked in Youth Farm's Frogtown neighborhood teaching 9-14 year olds how to urban farm and cook with their own produce. I taught farm skills and garden upkeep with eight youth at one of our three urban farm sites and I taught a cooking class to fifteen youth. In addition, I facilitated large group activities and field trips.
