  I am currently participating in a rigorous full-year classroom apprenticeship at Ewing Marion Kauffman School. Similar to the medical residency model, I spend my days with hands-on practice as a 5th grade English teacher, honing skills and building knowledge alongside an effective teacher-mentor in a high-need classroom. Classroom experience is supplemented with graduate-level content as I work towards a Masters in Urban Education from Park University.   I reach local at-risk youth and connect them to relational, emotional and spiritual resources in order to fulfill basic needs.Specifically, I develop and conduct premier weekly youth events for over 200 local, at-risk and minority youth, age 7-17. Within these weekly events, I prepare and teach lessons to audiences of 30-80 kids regularly. I coach and collaborate with a team of 2 interns, 20 adult volunteers, and 5 student volunteers. I effectively communicate with over 500 families, multiple nonprofit organizations, 5-10 middle and high school administrators on a weekly basis. I maintain efficient attendance keeping records of all student contact time, compile and process monthly summaries and stories to illustrate student growth outcomes for funders and community supporters.I also serve as the Special Events Director for all Camp War Eagle 365 events. I execute 8-10 area-wide events through managing staff, volunteers, and resources. By revamping our communication platform, strategic delegation, and putting primary focus on the purpose of each event, we increased the overall attendance, quality, and buy-in of students, parents, and volunteers.   For two years I served as a recruiter, director of the Leader In Training (L.I.T.) Program, and summer special events coordinator on the Camp War Eagle program staff.As a summer staff recruiter, I recruited at 8-12 college campuses, interviewed 110-130 students, and hired 25-35 summer staff, of which 95% received excellent job performance ratings.In directing the L.I.T. Program, I recruited, interviewed, and hired 30+ graduating high school seniors. I revamped the mission of the program to align with current research associated with best practices for developing high school graduates and then redesigned a strategic daily schedule where students build foundational skills needed to successfully navigate transition from high schoolAs the Summer Special Event Coordinator, I executed nightly special events entertaining 550 campers, mobilized 300 staff to perform necessary duties with excellence, budgeted $30,000 to maximize resources and implement new programming, and created engaging environments, generating a unique experience conducive toward building relationships.
