  Working as a childcare worker means making sure the children feel like they have someone they can trust and just talking to them about their daily lives, while providing the services this organization provides such as sending children around the world daily necessities. This has been a great job experience for me because I can help children locally by counseling them and organizing group activities, but also organize fund raisers to send gifts to children who aren't as fortunate around the world.   When I worked as a camp counselor at the YMCA, my number one responsibility was making sure the kids were taken care of. This included organizing their schedules, snacks, activities, and helping them learn new things. An important part of my job was letting their parents know that their children were in good hands and making sure the kids have a safe but fun environment to come to besides school or home. Doing this job helped me to understand children better and got experience with organization and working with children. Show less
