      LEADER Aerospace program is an initiative by Malaysian government through Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) and Malaysian Aerospace Council (MAC) collaborated with three (3) aerospace key players in Malaysia, Composites Technology Research Malaysia (CTRM), Spirit Aerosystems Malaysia and STRAND Aerospace Malaysia.The objectives of the program are to develop human capital capable of serving as Aerospace Engineers, namely Stress & Design Engineers in the three (3) participating companies and be part of Malaysian Aerospace Community in global aerospace supply chain, serving the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) such as Airbus and BOEING.Only twenty-four (24) graduates are chosen from more than one thousand (1,000) applicants to be part of the program.The training consists of five (5) months classroom training on stress and design engineering and eleven (11) months of on job training at respective companies. The first five (5) months of training covers software such as CATIA, CATIA Composite, Nastran, Patran & OptiStruct. CATIA, Nastran, Patran training sessions were conducted by FEIRAN Technologies. CATIA Composite session by DASSAULT Systemes, India & OptiStruct by ALTAIR, USA.Within that five (5) months period, the training also covers on Composite Manufacturing by CTRM-Aero Composites, Composite Assembly & Aircraft Design by SPIRIT Aerosystems and Stress Analysis by STRAND Aerospace at their respective facilities.Aside from that, the trainee are also exposed to soft skills, management skill and communication skill, especially email communication.
