I have known Saif for past 2 years and have been roommates with him. He is a very enthusiastic and motivated person driven towards excellence. He is very active about the different trends going on in the industry and is keen to learn about different advancements. Apart from being technically profound, he is excellent at communicating his ideas and thoughts to his team. He would add tremendous value to any company he would be working on.

•Mechanical Engineer in a Research & Development Team working to improve overall product lifecycle of Explosives and Narcotics Detection Devices.•Designed and developed an enclosure using sheet metal for an air generator while taking inputs from the end-user. Successfully employed different techniques for insulation of sound.•Designed and developed prototypes for a sampling wand used in chemical analysis. These were made from PLA plastic using 3D Printing with the primary purpose of testing core functional features of such a device.•Designed and developed Clamshell packaging for sampling swabs to reduce logistical complexity. These were vacuum-formed out of PET plastic.•Planned and coordinated mass production orders of explosives and narcotics detectors.•Built and assembled a CNC Milling machine for mass manufacturing of parts in-house, which resulted in a 40% reduction in costs.•Redesigned a chemical analysis device by adding a sheet metal chassis to mount internal components. This improved assembly efficiency and reduced the total part count of the device.•Designed and developed multiple plastic injection-moulded parts. Carried out manufacturability analysis and fixed inherent defects found in this process.•Designed and routed cable assemblies to reduce noise and isolate signals. Consequently, drafted wiring assembly drawings for manufacturing.•Collaborated with the Electronics department to design and develop Printed Circuit Boards for integration on device chassis/body panels.•Designed and developed blow-moulded cells to ship chemical solutions as consumables.•Designed and developed moulds to make silicone caps for chemical storage cells to achieve an air-tight seal. Founded an in-house, low-cost manufacturing line to produce these parts.•Recorded and edited video user manuals to train operators and resellers of chemical analysis devices.•Automated pneumatic circuits using pressure switches, thus reducing the duty-cycle of compressors by 80%.
