The… Show more The optimal sizing of hybrid renewable energy systems (HRES) to satisfy the demand with the highest reliability and lowest cost is a crucial step to meet the energy challenges of the 21st century. In this study, a model for sizing a hybrid installation: pv-wind storage system, satisfying the energy demand over a lifetime of 20 years was developed. The degradation over time of the system components as well as the increase in energy demand are considered for better reliability. The model has been implemented on a case study: a house located in Bou Ismail Tipaza; its resolution is obtained by means of a hybrid metaheuristic called WCMFO. Finally, an economic and ecological study is provided justifying the economic profitability and the considerable ecological impact of the hybrid installation. Show less
