Creating bibliographical records for monographs and non-print materials (i.e. Books, Microfiche, Maps, DVDs, Videocassettes, and Sound Recordings) acquired by the office in Arabic, English and French according to AACR2a, MARC21, LCRI’s, DCM, and ALA-LC Romanization tables. I create the bibliographical records in whole book cataloging level (descriptive & subject cataloging) by adding subject headings and classification numbers according to Library of Congress Subject Headings (LCSH) and LC Classification System. -Creating authority records for all types of headings (e.g. personal names “modern and classic”, corporate bodies, conferences …). In addition, preparing proposals for subject headings and classification which are not exist in LCSH and LC Classification System. -Searching purchased and exchange titles received by the office from various acquisition sources in the Middle East and North Africa through Voyager and Library of Congress Online Public Access Catalog (LOC-OPAC) against LOC search tools like RLIN and LOCa OPAC to verify if these titles have previously been received or acquired by LOC or not.Preparing lists of bibliographic records to be distributed on-line or by e-mail to MECAP participants for their selections.
