It is with pleasure that I write this reference letter for Mohamed Zaki. I have known Mohamed since he joined the Mining Engineering Program in 2013. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in mining engineering Co-op in 2017. During this time, I got to know him well through the courses I taught him and through my role as Mining Program Director at the time. Mohamed struck me struck me as a hardworking individual who is dedicated to his work and who applies himself to the fullest. He has a pleasant and cordial personality and he got along with everyone at school. As a co-op student, he worked for Canadian Malartic in 2017 in drilling and blasting and received excellent employer’s evaluation from his work term supervisor. Mohamed joined ProMine in the fall of 2018 as a mining engineer providing technical support to mines that are customers of ProMine. He was also instrumental in promoting the ProMine software at McGill. He was my main contact for setting up the network license at the engineering computer labs and he led the organization of the ProMine team regular visits offering hands-on tutorials for our classes on Underground Mining and Mine Design & Prefeasibility Study. Over time, Mohamed developed strong business and leadership skills that earned him his position as Director of Business Development at ProMine. I am confident Mohamed will be an asset to his future employer. His skillset combined with his personality and competence in mining engineering make him worthy of consideration for new challenging career opportunities.
