I taught courses in Microeconomics (graduate and undergraduate), Statistics and Mathematics at Université Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium). In parallel to my teaching activity, I carry out research at the European Center for Advanced Research in Economics and Statistics. My work includes the investigation of the reasons behind ineffectiveness of some financing for development policies. In particular, I focus on the evaluation of financing schemes (including grant matching policies), and the design of better financing modalities (project assistance vs. budget support). As part of my research, I also investigated the efficiency of environmental policy and its use as an industrial regulation instrument. My research projects include the assessment of behavioural insights for energy, transport, and infras- tructure policies. Each of these issues ranks high in the debate on public policies, and has a sizeable impact on economic development as well as on social and individual well-being. Show less
