       Developed and implemented Treasury Asset and Liability Management (ALM) policies, procedures and systems. Overseen by Investment Committee and all objectives and targets achieved. This included interest rate and liquidity management. Interest rate risk was managed in the banking book using an internal Value at Risk (VaR) methodology.  Developed and implemented the CBQ Fund Transfer Pricing methodology across all SBUs and products. This was key for performance and business evaluation.  Established the optimal hedging strategies for foreign exchange and interest rates risks.  Supervision of CBQ’s liquidity by developing appropriate cash-flow strategies and adopting the right money market instruments. Surplus liquidity was invested in various instruments to enhance yields whilst maintaining liquidity and security.  Management of CBQ’s investment portfolio focusing on asset allocation and investment strategies. Assets included equity, fixed income, structural credit, structural fixed income and equity products, mutual funds, hedge funds, real estate fund and private equities. These were spread across all geographies (e.g. MENA, US, Europe and Asia).  Focal point for relationships with local banks and Qatar Central Bank.  Created balance sheet optimization models (ALM+ Balance sheet optimization simulation) by adopting most effective balance sheet simulations in various different environments.  Experience in both Islamic and conventional treasury products and setting out the best strategies which fit the overall objectives and targets to both.  Active Participate in ALCO meetings and responsible of implementation of decisions taken by ALCO related to the group.  Basel III: Key and Active Part of Qatar Central Bank Basel III implementation committee.
