  As a working student at Automation W+R, I had the opportunity to contribute to various aspects of the rope inspection process using advanced image processing techniques and software development. During my time in this role, I accomplished the following: 1) Rope Lay-Length and Diameter Measurement Script: I designed and developed custom scripts using the HALCON image processing library to accurately determine the lay length and also diameter of ropes. This involved extensive image analysis and mathematical algorithms to ensure precise measurements. 2) Integration into Client Software: I took on the responsibility of integrating my custom scripts into the client's proprietary software for rope inspection. This involved coding in C++ and utilizing the Qt library to ensure compatibility and efficiency. 3) 3D Point Cloud Processing: I expanded my skills to work with 3D point clouds, specializing in their registration and post-processing. I also leveraged these 3D point clouds for surface-based matching, contributing to enhanced inspection capabilities. Show less
