Mo's technically strong and able to grok new technologies or technically-complex problems quickly. He's pragmatic and never complained about tackling the sorts of problems other engineers tend to shy away from. He came in as a junior engineer but quickly demonstrated a strong technical capability. Our Agile team was involved in the active development and support of numerous microservices that harnassed technologies including Node.js, React.js, GraphQL, Elixir, Docker & Kubernetes. I came into the team as a more experienced engineer than Maris, but not in those javascript technologies, so I had a steep hill to climb. This process was helped greatly by team members like Maris who in particular, was always friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. He made time on tasks to assist in solidifying my knowledge, allowing me to grow in confidence and capability in the team.
