  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the company's Industrial Relations Strategy for 4 divisions; ( Rolled products, Cast Products, Grinding media and Services • Advise the business on legislation, policies and procedures related to industrial • Monitor developments in the labour legislation and implement appropriate strategies to ensure compliance and minimise business risk. • Do environmental scanning and advise management on trends and possible triggers for labour unrest; • Assess and understand the dynamics of the environment, external and internal, of the organization and ensure that proper ER policies and practices are developed and implemented. • Ensure continuous training of all line managers on policies, procedures. • Representing the company in disputes at the bargaining council and CCMA, • Chairing of central IR Committee meetings, • Negotiate collective agreements with trade unions, (NUMSA, MEWUSA and Solidarity) • Consult organized labour on organizational changes in the divisions. • Develop and nurture a proactive/constructive relationship with the leadership of the trade union at all levels. • Oversee the general management of discipline and grievances throughout in all 4 divisions. • Ensure effectiveness of ER participative structures (in the 4 Divisions). • Co-ordinate the activities of the industrial action emergency response team. • Ensure effective communication of all critical ER issues. • Liaise with bargaining councils, relevant state departments and dispute resolution forums. • Drafting monthly reports on ER.
