As Director of Crisis and Volunteer Services, I oversee the planning, development, and management of Avalon's First Response/Crisis Response program; while also leading the development, management, and implementation of Avalon's volunteer program. I provide direct supervision to all First Response staff, community volunteers, and provide 24/7 administrative support to all staff. I assist with the implementation of a growing counseling and advocacy program including policy and program development, program support, technical assistance, interviewing, and training. Additionally, I manage internal scheduling platforms and maintain the First Response on-call calendar, including scheduling of staff and coordination of time-off/vacation/emergency coverage. I engage as an active member of Avalon’s leadership team and provide support in developing best practices in the areas of programming, organizational growth, strategic planning, and related organizational initiatives. I monitor monthly statistical reports required for grant contracts, submit requested reports as is necessary, and monitor case files and case notes for all advocacy staff. I provide crisis intervention, advocacy, and support to adult and adolescent survivors of sexual assault and human trafficking during medical forensic exams and other emergency related follow up care at Avalon’s 6 clinic sites and surrounding hospitals (includes pediatric population). First Responder Sexual Assault Advocate

As a First Responder, I worked weekly 24/hour on-call shifts and responded to Avalon's 5 clinic sites with a SANE nurse to provide crisis intervention, emotional support, and advocacy to survivors of sexual assault and human trafficking. I provided follow up and advocacy services that include: attending court with survivors, filing PPO's, assisting with finding shelter, providing resources for housing, and providing additional advocacy needs and referrals.
