Benjamin Robinson
I worked with Matt prior to him joining MoneySmart but when he got the role there he quickly sent out offers to help him in his new workplace. Matt was responsible for rebuilding the Technology teams capabilities from the ground up, fostering a mixed team of both on-site in Singapore developers, and remote workers working out of Indonesia and Philippines. He was instrumental in bringing about an incredibly close and compassionate tech team, he enabled a team of Australians to come into a Singapore company and quickly make everyone feel like a strong and well bonded team. He has always enabled and empowered members of the tech team in achieving their best, heck he was one of two people that truly gave me a chance in the first place to become a developer now technology team lead. With him empowering the team he enabled us to undertake radical changes to the companies process and how we build things in the first place, leading to important changes in how the tech team approached new products and where they best spent their time. Matts major contributions to the tech team is more in his desire to ensure we are building stable and reliable tools and services, not getting too deep into anyone's given work but always expecting and ensuring the work was done to the highest quality, sufficiently tests, and incredibly reliable and well regarded in the company. Over the course of his time working at MoneySmart he helped create the opportunity for many of my peers and myself to grow in our roles and responsibilities helping create some of the best developers and leads I've worked along side in my career, which leads me to believe his greatest strength is his passion for people and how to grow and nurture diverse individuals and make them all feel like a welcome part of a team. If i had the opportunity to ever work alongside Matt again in the future i would happily do so as my time working alongside Matt are always remembered fondly, and are often mentioned as such positive times even when catching up with other previous MoneySmart employees

I have really enjoyed working with Matt in the department leadership team streamlining design, product and technology. His great level of enthusiasm and approachability also made him the sponsor of many smaller initiatives that were born on the ground floor.
