joined Maersk Oil in Esbjerg as Business controller for one of the Danish Asset groups. The Asset Controller position was newly founded in the organisation when I joined so part of the job was to evolve position into what benefited the Business and the Finance department the most. being a part of this have gained me insight into the mechanics of a large organisation. During my time with Maersk Oil I established Cost Controlling for asset Project Managers, and the tool I created is to be implemented globally within Maersk Oil. I also helped strength the general processes around Planning, forecasts, budgets and monthly reporting. My development in this position, consolidating my completenesses from my previous position in a new work environment. but also gaining insight in the inner working between departments in a large organisation and how to balance a position which interacts with multiple departments. During the 2-3 years I have been with Maersk LNG I have; · Integrated management and financial reporting of the business unit · Improved processes used from bookkeeping to management reporting · Prepared budgets for the business unit · Implemented and improved Cost control tools · Prepared management reporting · Participated in the process of establishing Maersk LNG as a legally standalone business unit · Contributed to the due diligence and data room process, of the current sales process for Maersk LNG In January/February 2011 I transferred within the finance department from the business support team to accounting in order to help the accounting team with reporting (Hyperion) as this task was transferred from business support to accounting, but also to widen my understanding of practical accounting, invoicing and preparation of statutory accounts. During the 3 exciting years Maersk LNG have given me I have also benefitted from the education as engineer fitter (Maskinarbejder) which I took prior to studying economics, as I can understand the technical issues being discussed when interacting with the technical and operations department. During my work I continuously strive to improve the processes used and quality of presented reports. When improving processes I always build on an understanding of the “as-is” process to prevent losing any hidden steps and controls, and then examine what unused possibilities the current systems have. As I believe “new” is not always the only answer. Specialties:Management Reporting, Process Improvements, Accounting, Budgeting, Monthly Reporting Hyperion (HFM), Super User in Excel (including macros), year end reporting process, statetory accounts.
