As a Nutrition Education Intern, my main responsibility was to strengthen the skill set required for successful adult-centered learning. Throughout the course of my internship, I both assisted and lead hands-on cooking demonstrations and basic skills kitchen classes, contributed to administrative organization, complied with regulations regarding participant privacy and safety, managed marketing and promotion of the program via social media, and created learning materials for basic nutrition courses. Classes were taught in English, however a large percentage of the client population had little to no knowledge of the English language, in circumstances such as these, special accommodation and adjustment had to be sought.
