As the Adult Career Coach for the Elevate SNAP E&T Pilot Program, I provided case management for the students randomly assigned to the program. My duties included participating in random assignment orientation with both Hampton and Newport News Departments of Social Services, conducting 2 orientations a month for Thomas Nelson, providing supportive services to the students to eliminate barriers, and performing individual student intakes with each student assigned. In these intake appointments, I conducted career assessments, developed career and education plans, provided industry and occupational labor market information, and discussed program guidelines and information. I facilitated soft skills and job readiness workshops and conducted Moral Reconation Therapy group sessions. My case management duties involved data entry into the Virginia Wizard Case Management System, maintaining students' files, and addressing attendance and academic concerns. As the Employer Relations Coordinator, I worked closely with the Virginia Employment Commission and the Peninsula Worklink to provide consulting services and employment options to employers.
