Mitzi is a world class personality; best colleagues you could ever ask for; very intelligent, smart, considerate, professional and caring. She is very passionate about what she does and more importantly about her librarianship career. Mitzi would be an asset to any institution she lands a job at. I highly recommend her.

As the head of a three person team, we maintain the normal operation of the Circulation Desk. We provide access to a reserve collection of textbooks, group study room keys, and laptops (Mac & Win) using Sierra. We also offer basic technical support and troubleshooting when able, and ready reference to round out our dedicated patron assistance. We are also responsible for hard closing the three story library space at midnight accounting for patrons and materials. As a small part of a library wide improvement initiative I, with input from my coworkers and supervisors, used Google docs to create a form for our evening procedures to provide better access to relevant data being collected. Bookkeeping is a detail driven profession that Susan Chandler has been doing for years. Luckily she is also a wonderful teacher of her profession and accepted the task to teach me the basics. Due to a personal health issue this time also turned into a crash course in owning my own business. Bookkeeping is not my passion, but the skills and experiences are irreplaceable! I know how to read and create financial statements, navigate and maintain multiple accounts across the register, and I understand how they interact in the double entry system of bookkeeping. I improved my skills in the MS office suite overall through multiple projects such as: tracking then breaking into parts expenses and rents in excel to create accurate billing statements and year end reports, or designing pamphlets, flyers, cards, & address labels as marketing tools in Word and Publisher. This professional leap improved my attention to detail, my collaborative skills, my office experience, and tested my ability to learn new skills and technology while on the job. Show less
