This was a Teaching Assistant position for Animal Science 117. This position allowed me to work with students who were interested in all of the aspects that go into having an auction for horses. As the photography chair, I was able to help students learn the best ways to capture images of the horses that would be most appealing for a customer. This involved learning when to capture an image when striding, proper head placement, and making sure that their ears were facing towards the camera. Another important aspect of the class was making a sale ad for the horse that was assigned to my group of students. The sale ad consisted of a photo of the horse for sale, general information on the horse, their advertisement, and information on their family tree. I had photographed the entire event on the day of sale and was mentoring those in my group with what to focus on during the sale. This was a position to keep me on my toes at all times and know what was going on at all times and prioritizing where to be at any given moment.

I had the opportunity to work behind the scenes and see all the work that gets put into the events that occur at Penn State that are related and focused around agriculture. This experience has allowed me to learn how to craft articles that would be published, capture photos to advertise for upcoming events, and interact with many staff and students to build a story through writing and photography.

This includes guiding the scholars to their new buildings to attend their classes, interacting through icebreakers and game nights, and most importantly was making sure the environment was comfortable so they could feel safe while being far from their families.

As a web photographer, I spoke with the authors of the articles for the website to capture images that best fit their topic. This involved getting the information that they wanted in the photo and for myself to find the best way to represent that they were looking for in the image. I also had the opportunity to photograph concerts that took place by Penn State's Student Program Association.
