I worked as a cabinet installer for Foreman; Logan Roos, for about 3 years. My job started out by helping my father load cabinets into the trailer, and evolved into training to skillfully install custom cabinets. After 3 years of working at Homesteaders I can confidently say my acquired skills can translate to other carpentry related trades, with framing as an example. Skills acquired: - Properly loading cargo and tools in a limited space. - Using hand tools (Crowbar, level), power tools (Drill, jigsaw, festool) and larger equipment (table saw). - Cooperation with coworkers. - Understanding structure and order of operations in cabinet installation in respect with the work environment. - Interpreting drawings and schema's of a job. In the end, working those 3 years at Homesteaders has made me a better person, more disciplined in a trade and as a person, knowing I have made people happy with their finished washrooms, kitchens, etc. Show less
