Took part in two major projects 1) Worked with another engineer to migrate a major thermal engine CAD assembly from Pro-E to SolidWorks - This project involved taking hundreds of Pro-E assembly components and remodeling them in SolidWorks and recreating the top-level assembly for future reference. Gained experience modeling sheet metal parts and various piping and structural components. Learned the importance of bend reductions in sheet metal creation. Acquired understanding of the best way to organize features in SolidWorks files to allow for quick changes in the future. 2) Collaborated with multiple engineers to repair a non-operational pipe flushing machine - Worked to re-develop and re-build a necessary flushing device used in production to clean out various components before refrigerant is added. Developed an understanding of NPT pipe fittings, flare fittings, Swagelok fittings, brazed piping. Gained experience in real-world fitting selection. Learned how to wire solenoid valves in a basic electrical circuit. Diagnosed problems during development and found solutions to result in a functioning machine. - Assist engineers in completing markup adjustments in SolidWorks drawing/part files. - Gained general understanding of single stage refrigeration systems and multistage auto-cascade refrigeration systems and how they work. - Understand how to read fluid piping schematics and relate them to actual refrigeration systems.
