In this position, both for academic credits and paid work, I assisted the Pennsylvania House Archives in their duties of researching the history of various state house members and helping to spread the information found on them. I learned about various functions of state government, proper archival preservation methods, and how to display artifacts to the general public. In this position, I created the biographies of African American individuals in the United States Army, studied the U.S. Military's involvement in Operation Uphold Democracy in Haiti, and gathered all the research material for an education packet about the Nuremberg Trials and Colonel Burton Andrus, the warden of the war criminals. I handled countless documents and photographs during the course of this work, including a catalogue of all the photographs and objects donated from the collections of Andrus and his deputy warden at Nuremberg.
