Misty Emler began working at PDI in 1998 as a receptionist with limited administrative duties. Over the years, she has been entrusted with varied responsibilities - encompassing tasks on a management level related to administrative support, financial activities, and contracting. Significant portions of her time is spent supporting corporate management in daily operations of PDI as well as preparing contracts and proposals for projects. PDI relies on her ability to provide logistical administrative support and consultation on items such as insurance coverage, contracts, subcontractors, human resources, and accounting. Annually, she ensures that PDI’s certifications and registrations are up to date (TBPE, CMBL, SCTRCA, SAM/CCR, etc.).Ms. Emler is skilled in formatting and compiling technical specifications in CSI format and has created databases for project documentation. She manages templates and checklists through administrative controls and assists technical staff through clerical review / edit of technical reports and letters. She is also responsible for marketing efforts such as developing brochures, preparing email “blasts”, website content management, and responding to Request for Qualifications from design teams, owners, and federal/state agencies.Outside of her administrative skills, she has supported technical staff with code reviews which developed an understanding of building and fire codes and basic fire protection principals. This technical knowledge is invaluable for supporting the professional staff. Additionally, she has helped architects, contractors, and owners in navigating the construction permitting process in San Antonio. This included providing a complete list of needed items, reviewing plans and documents for completeness, and submitting packages to the City of San Antonio for permit review.
