Battle Scars To Win is a fundraising initiative to help support medical expenses for young men and women with life threatening illnesses. This was inspired by a young friend of mine with Lyme Disease (an illness commonly recognised from tick bites). Fundraising events organised: Epic Winter Fundraiser Dance which was kindly supported by Patties, Woolworths and a Band I organised and contributed to. As a CRT my role has been to develop lesson plans without much time for preparation using the materials and outline that absent teachers have left behind. This role also required great personality and confidence in working with students I didn’t know and earning respect quickly. Learning their names and getting to know them helped to enhance my position and work with them to discuss current tasks. My development in this area has been a great benefit to my success as an educator.
