Aaron-Tate Wimberley [MBA, MSF]

Hardworking, honest, humble, humanitarian, and humanist- all of those words immediately come to mind when I think of the stellar skill-set and experience that Mishka Ahmad brings to any team environment that she is in. While her qualifications in Global and International Education speak volumes, it is her "action" mindset which sets her apart from those people that talk about sustainability versus those who roll up their sleeves and actually effectuate change. In our work together with UNICEF USA, Mishka has demonstrated the ability to motivate and mobilize local and national team members, and has a long history of doing direct advocacy with local politicians to advocate for the rights of children and support the organizational goals of UNICEF USA. In addition, her focus on human trafficking and her role in garnering support for local focus on the human rights issues surrounding human trafficking has directly influenced the passing of SB 540- the Florida Bill designed to end human trafficking. In addition Mishka is a very ethical person and actively seeks to promote more widespread knowledge to the greater public about some of the cultural communities that she is a member of. Mishka would make a great addition in a leadership role for any team, company, or organization that is looking for someone who can harness purpose/kismet into actionable & tangible results, while also fostering a healthy team spirit with her situational leadership skills. https://flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2019/00540

Nur Center for Women and Children provides shelter and other services for women in crisis. My role primarily involved being the survivors advocate, but also included oversight of shelter maintenance and public relations. Mostly survivors of domestic violence utilized the culturally sensitive transitional housing and other women across three counties were able to get remote assistance too. Through diverse board of directors and network of experts provided more than just basics for survival like food, childcare, or transportation, but we also also address mental health, legal, and medical needs. We aimed to empower women to use their time at Nur Center to become self sufficient with work and get on the right path to support their kids. From enrolling in higher education to getting driving lessons and so much more - we worked with everyone’s unique needs to continue to help them grow even after they have left the facility.
