I have been working with Fonterra to improve the cream cheese manufacturing process with a focus on enhancing product quality and reducing energy costs. As a process engineer, I developed and refined process models to gain insights into the cream cheese fermentation process, and optimized fermentation vat scheduling to increase throughput and efficiency. My work led to significant improvements in product quality, including sensory and textural characteristics. I collaborated with lab technicians to implement and test process improvements, ensuring that our solutions were effective and practical. I worked in our research group from February 2013 to July 2015. This project aims to develop a pilot Real-Time optimization solution that was implemented in an industrial unit. I was in charge of writing code for dynamic and steady-state modeling of vapor recompression distillation (VRD), for propene production, which operates in the REPLAN refinery of Petrobras. Energy and cost savings were obtained along with ensuring the high purity of the products. I worked in our research group from February 2013 to July 2015.
