I met Mirwais in Herat/Afghanistan. He has been recruited as Education Officer to roll out the UNICEF
Richard Navarro
Mirwais Fahez is a passionate champion for education, particularly girls' education in Afghanistan. As an Education Officer for UNICEF, he has been responsible for carrying out large and complex projects in teacher professional development, curriculum development and planning. He is skilled in data analysis and decision making. He has advised senior leadership in the Ministry of Education, and he has represented UNICEF with international visitors and organizations. When I served as the Chief of Education for UNICEF from 2002-2004, I recognized Mirwais' talents and brought him from a field office to the central office where he continued to take on increasing levels of responsibility until 2021. Mirwais is an excellent communicator and I have invited him to be a guest speaker in my university classes on several occasions. He is always thoughtful, knowledgeable and sincere in his presentations. Although Mirwais Fahez has worked primarily in the education sector for most of his professional career, I believe he is capable of transferring his skill set to other professional endeavors as well. He would also be an excellent trainer and I believe his interpersonal skills would be an asset to any organization in which he is employed. I am happy to provide additional information if needed.
