My Beauty Spot is operated by Chemist Warehouse and specialises in perfumes/fragrances, and some beauty products. This role has enabled me to maintain my transferable skills in a sales environment whilst completing my studies. I worked across multiple locations and teams with varying store layouts and responsibilities. Specific duties included: • Utilising product knowledge and sales techniques to assist customers with their enquiries and in the selection and purchase of cosmetics and fragrances. • Process accurate and timely transactions via cash, EFTPOS and ZipPay • Work towards sales targets/achieve budget, and implement actions towards other Head Office priorities such as customer engagement and memberships. • Assist with general store operations such as making sure the store is stocked and presentable, repricing stock, stocktake, and manage stock flow between store and stock room, transferring stock to different stores. Communicating with members in head office on a frequent basis via emails and calls, changing store presentation when there is a catalogue/promotion running. • Ordering products for the store to ensure stock on hand doesn’t go low. Unpacking and flattening boxes, physical lifting of boxes and stock. Basic data entry, counting stock, entering invoices. Applying for credit on damaged items or following up stock that was never delivered by the warehouse. • Completing end of day banking and the end of month procedures which are then sent to head office. Handing cash, getting change for the store when the till is low. Training new employees, inducting new employees, managing and running a team, ordering staff cards, name badges and uniforms for staff. • Working independently or in a team environment. Opening and closing the store by myself when we are short staffed or in a slow period of the year. Running a team of employees in the busier seasons of the year. Show less
