Postdoc: Dynamic Modelling and Data Analysis
-
Nov 2013 - Jun 2018
In this position, I was responsible for the modelling in multiple interdisciplinary projects with various national and international collaboration partners. The research topics of those projects were highly diverse, ranging from drug-induced effects in breast cancer cell lines to enzymatic reactions with carotenes. The research topics of those projects were highly diverse, ranging from drug-induced effects in breast cancer cell lines to enzymatic reactions with carotenes. In addition to the biological applications, I have specialised on data analysis with R, contributing to the development of dMod, an R package for dynamic modelling (ordinary differential equations), parameter estimation (maximum likelihood) and uncertainty analysis (profile likelihood) published on CRAN. Main tasks: - Data exploration using different visualisation libraries (e.g. ggplot, Shiny). - Data preprocessing using parametric models, error models and machine learning algorithms. - Development of systems biology models. Parameter estimation from time-resolved data. Main projects: - Breast Cancer: analysis of single cell microscopy and high-throughput phospho-proteomics data. Studying the effects of therapeutic antibodies on receptor-mediated signalling. - Carotene Synthesis: analysis of enzymatic formation and decay of carotenes based on time-resolved chromotography data. Explaining features of dose response data by modelling of enzymatic reactions for dimeric substrate and enzyme units. - Oxidative Stress: NRF2 response to drug-induced oxidative stress in hepatocytes Show less

My research was focused on searches for supersymmetry with b-jets in the final states at the ATLAS detector. Main tasks: - Data Analysis: estimation of relevant non-supersymmetric backgrounds and their uncertainties from Monte-Carlo simulations and ATLAS data, - Statistics: testing background only (discovery) and various signal hypotheses (exclusion) - Optimal Design: optimisation of the analysis strategy based on Monte Carlo simulations to maximise the signal to background… Show more My research was focused on searches for supersymmetry with b-jets in the final states at the ATLAS detector.
