Advocay and Support Officer
-
Oct 2020 - Present
As an advocacy and support Officer for ICCM I provide outreach support to vulnerable members of the community around Manchester city. The aims of this programme are to support individuals to manage the obstacles they face such as: accessing health and welfare benefits, short- or long-term housing solutions, needing material resources, struggling to live a more independent lifestyle, and being more financially resilient. This is with an end goal of increasing the Quality of Life of individuals by reducing social isolation and increasing their confidence, independence, and self-esteem. The advocacy and support service intends to support individuals facing a range of issues such as homelessness, substance misuse, mental health issues and those who are experiencing social isolation
