  PhD thesis: Functional characterization of the retinal output in vision restoration strategies To determine success of a vision restoration technique, light responsiveness of ex vivo mouse retina was investigated through microelectrode array recordings. By means of extracellularly recording the RGC activity of a stimulated retina, the recorded retinal spiking activity can be analyzed regarding stimulus responsiveness and thus restoration success. Animal models were investigated regarding their temporal and spatial response profile achieved by vision restoration through optogenetic transduction and stem-cell transplantation. Show less
