  ▪ Research activities in the framework of the USA – FDA funded project “Field validation of a BSL-2 assay to diagnose total and neutralizaing anti-Ebola antibodies in West Africa”: implementation of a new and stable laboratory in Freetown, Sierra Leone; neutralization tests and ELISA with the tests developed in USA by Dr Kaplan; transfer of the technology to Freetown, Sierra Leone.▪ Research activities in the frame work of the European Project Horizon 2020 – EVIDENT on emergin viruses. In particular, research activities on filoviruses to forefront the Ebola outbreak in West Africa: differential diagnosis, relevance of the presence of co-infections; sequencing activities; gene expression analysis on chemokines and cytokines.

Implementation of a new and stable laboratori in the Princess Christian Maternity Hospital, Freetown, Sierra Leone for the diagnosis of viral hemorrhagic fevers. Diagnostic activities in the framework of the “Ebola Virus Disease Surveillance program”.
