Bio
Jennifer Samson
Miranda joined the River LA team four years ago when she was hired as a Community and Events Coordinator. She worked across the organization to support community engagement, fundraising and project development. I immediately recognized that her resourcefulness, management skills, and enthusiasm were a huge asset to the organization. Over the years, she has clearly demonstrated an eagerness to learn and quickly master everything that has been shared with her. As our organization grew, I had the opportunity to hire a Project Manager. Instead of hiring externally, I brought Miranda over to my team in the capacity of Placemaking Manager, where she supported the sourcing, funding, and delivery of River LA’s Placemaking project pipeline. As her manager, I’ve witnessed her ability to effectively manage and execute several projects at once, while delivering timely and outstanding results. Not only does she show maturity and strategic thinking well beyond her years, but also her skills are equal to those with many more years of experience. Most recently, Miranda rose to the challenge of an enormous endeavor--securing permits within a six month time frame for 15 projects and sites (one in each council district of Los Angeles) on behalf of the City of Los Angeles’ Department of Cultural Affairs
