Bio

I know Miranda for many years as somebody who can make things happen. Her clear vision, contagious enthusiasm, communication and leadership skills, and fundraising ability combined with a vast network of movers and shakers delivers high-level results. I have seen her pull order from chaos in several projects, including 'The Cambridge Darwin Festival' where her skill in scouting and promoting new talent made it memorable event; a sustained fund-raising activity to organise promotion of classical music, and several large-scale private initiatives.
Elizabeth Lynch MBE
Miranda's vision for the Festival was bold and imaginative. The aspiration for a high quality international festival embraced and engaged a wide range of communities of interest - from scientists, artists, historians and other academics to the general public and local community in Cambridge. The Festival gave two marvellous opportunities for the young poets who participated in the Evolving Words project which I produced - performances at the opening event in the Botanic Gardens to an appreciative audience including over 100 international evolutionary scientists and later at the Junction to a packed house of a mainly young and locals. Miranda's support for Evolving Words demonstartes her committment to public engagement with science and her ability t.o work at a global and local level

I set up a new cross disciplinary Master's programme in Public Policy. I developed course content, and identified contributors. I raised funding for staff and for bursaries. I publicised the course locally, nationally and internationally and set up public policy seminar and lecture programmes. The course launched in October 2013.
