A diverse role within a fast-paced language centre, requiring preparation, organisation, excellent time management and interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise within a small team. I planned, prepared and delivered over 30 hours of lessons each week. I developed a strong competency in managing a varied workload and frequently had to think on my feet to adapt to changing situations regarding new students, timetable changes and arranging extra work, often with minimum notice. The role demanded excellent attention to detail and the ability to efficiently coordinate with other teachers in the centre. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programmes including Word, Publisher and Excel was also necessary.

Assisting at university open days in a paid capacity, I put my interpersonal and organisational skills to use welcoming and directing prospective students and their families, and coordinating campus tours with my fellow ambassadors. I also assisted with administration tasks such as assigning visitors to different talks and presentations, depending on their course interests. During ‘Fresher’s Fortnight’ in September 2012, I worked as part of a team of ambassadors to organise and deliver a programme of activities for new students ranging from pop-up breakfast cafes, to games evenings and quiz nights.
