Before I’d even joined Mira’s team at Summit Learning in June 2017, I was inspired by her enthusiasm for the organization’s mission and her commitment and dedication to her team and colleagues. Mira’s direct and honest management style was a refreshing exemplar of compassionate leadership. She showed an incredible talent for working adeptly in response to change, while never losing sight of, nor her enthusiasm for, Summit’s greater vision. Mira did all this, while ensuring that our team always had the resources and direction that we needed to get our jobs done well. Not least, Mira exudes warmth and a sense of camaraderie; she encouraged a sense of unity and collaboration on our team that is hard to replace.

Mira is an integral leader at Summit Public Schools. As a part of the Executive team, she oversaw the vision, goals, culture and strategy of this nationally renowned CMO through several inflections points, including the birth and spin off of the Summit Learning Program. Under her leadership, she grew a multi department organization from the ground up, requiring vision and strategic thinking at the 10,000 foot level and simultaneous depth of knowledge at the 1 foot level. The Summit Learning Program wouldn’t have been successful without her relentless dedication and impact on the programming and longer term strategy. She defined and led multiple components of the program from when the program was simply an idea on a whiteboard to reaching over 400 schools. She is also known for her fierce advocacy of her team and her intense loyalty. She always had her team’s best interest in mind as we navigated new goals and initiatives. Mira clearly pours her heart and soul into her work and the people.

The Entrepreneur in Residence role at Marshall Street allows seasoned education leaders to incubate innovative ideas to systematically improve opportunities for students across the country. My area of focus is championing the diverse needs of children and families within the public education system. I am exploring new, integrated models of support and services for families as they navigate moments of crisis for their children at school. In addition, I am pursuing my Master’s in Clinical Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin.

Founded an education startup to give parents the tools to nurture their kid’s social-emotional and learning needs at home. In less than a year, we secured funding to develop and launch UNBOXED by Prepared Parents, a digital platform with 100+ resources for parents based on leading learning science, developmental psychology and behavioral research. We built a community 50K strong of parents, employers and community-based organizations to bridge the divide between home and school. To support parents through the COVID-19 crisis, we designed digital learning kits to meet the challenges of remote learning, and tools to support kids' mental and social-emotional health. Prepared Parents is an initiative within Marshall Street, a learning lab division of Summit Public Schools.
