• Monitoring performance of database closely and taking necessary corrective actions to boost performance. • Monitoring Databases and its activities through Enterprise Manager mainly at Peak/Normal Time. • Ensure Primary/Standby database availability. • Verify that the primary database logs are being applied to the standby database. • Ensure clients failover/switchover for standby database in case of database/system crash. • Appliying oracle quaterly PSU patches. • Cloning Oracle Home for database upgradations to minor and major releases. • Configure and Manage database using Automatic Storage Management (ASM). • Check and resolve/terminate Hung connections. • Ensure Oracle listener functionality. • Check alert log for Oracle errors and take necessary corrective actions. • Check Sqlnet log for errors and take nessary corrective actions . • Maintaining and managing SGA components. • Monitoring and verifying backup completion (Cold/Hot/Rman). • Monitoring/Verifying backup of Archivelog files. • Oracle 10g, 11g,12c & Linux AS 4/5 Installations. • Refresh database (Cloning) for Development and Testing purpose. • Monitoring and Analyzing Index /Tablespace fragmentation and compression. • Rebuilding Warehouse Indexes/Tables when appropriate. • Check snapshots/materialized view refresh and resolve issues if any. • Check for core dumps and remove them. • Monitor and track file system space usage for databases that have files with “autoextend on” enabled. • Trim alert log and sqlnet logs every months. • Generating STATSPACK and AWR reports for Oracle DBs to monitor the database/system performance. • Check CPU and Processor usage using TOP/GLANCE command . • Work closely with system administrator to install all software and patches.
