Bio
Austin Rae
I worked closely with Mimi on our Vancouver Film School final project "Scouts' Oath" as we created its UI/UX assets. This experience was one that I will always be thankful for and will never forget. Mimi understands how to properly communicate with team members, always staying conscious of their tasks, and is able to produce professional level work. She makes an effort to talk with others and is willing to push herself outside the comfort zone if necessary. Mimi is a joy to be around and a wonderful friend to anyone in the workplace. Any team would be lucky to have Mimi by their side. I wish her nothing but the best as she moves towards the future.
Mateus Farias
I have little doubt that Mimi was one of the most creative people I have ever met, and I feel like a better person for doing so. During our time in VFS and our project, Scouts Oath, we shared long and thoughtful design discussions and faced several interesting technical problems, and she made it so much more interesting. By attacking problems from different angles and being legitimately engaged of all aspects of interactive media, Mimi allowed her expertise of the arts and aesthetics shine through, and made our project so much more. On the personal side, Mimi is a joy to work with. Filled with lighthearted fun and emotional strength, she was a pivotal piece in the solution of oh-so-many challenges, and I still find myself learning from what she has to share. I had a blast working with her and would prize any opportunity to do so again!

Freelancing Animator and Illustrator
-
2015 - Dec 2017
During 2 years I freelanced and got to work on a variety of projects. Smelly Memories/Stinkande Minnen
-
2015 - 2017
Together with a small team I developed "Smelly Memories"/ "Stinkande Minnen", a stop motion animated point and click game where the player takes the role as Lena, a 115 year old woman. The player explores a few key memories from her life in the Stockholm Suburb Hässelby where I from (and where the game also was developed). The game takes place in different locations at different times in Hässelby's history. I got to know about Hässelby's strange, but intriguing history from Henrik Henriksson and Hässelby history society. They told me about places like Lövsta dump in the beginning of the 20th century, where they had pigs living and eating the garbage. The idea was to kill two birds with one stone - getting rid of trash and getting cheap pork. This is an example of an environment that was used in the game. The game was funded by The Swedish Arts Grants Committee, Make Equal and Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts. Miniatures and trailer was exhibited the National Museum of Science and Technology and I held public speeches about the project. Show less

During my studies at Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts I had the amazing opportunity to work at the cut out animated children feature film and TV-show "Tänk om..."/"What If..." based on Lena Sjöberg's adorable book with the same title. Directed by Linda Hambäck and Marika Heidebäck. Animated at Dockhus Animation AB. Sung/Narrated by Nina Persson. I mainly modeled and digitized the cut out puppets in clay, but I also did some animation and compositing in After Effects.
