Ethnographic Researcher and Intern
-
Jun 2019 - Aug 2019
• Conducted ethnographic research exploring pedagogic engagements within De Ceuvel, a community-led experiment with the circular economy and systems thinking. My research questioned how De Ceuvel can be understood as an experiment with urban sustainability which invites people to participate in sensory and emotive modes of interaction. The dissertation received a 1st (74%) and made original contributions to the anthropological theory of pedagogic engagement and spatial affectivity. It is due to be partially published in the winter of 2020/21. • Facilitated public engagement with De Ceuvel’s vision of sustainability through organising events such as the 'We Make the City' workshops, film screenings and the De Ceuvel summer festival. • Led public and private tours explaining the site’s history, technologies and vision of sustainability and the circular economy. • Composed and published English posts on De Ceuvel’s website and social media channels.
