As a sports graduate at an independent school, I coach multiple different sports and activities with students at various ages and abilities no matter how confident I am with the sport. It is my responsibility to coach, umpire and lead various teams throughout the school year. I have been placed as the full coach for the U13A team, and co coach for other teams across the year groups, which requires planning and leading three hours of training a week along-side one or two fixtures. It is particularly important at this age to gain respects and trust from the students to ensure that they grow, mature, and participate to their full potential. In order to effectively lead this team, active learning is essential. Before each training session I point out specifically what we are going to be working on, why, and when it would be implemented in a game. After the session I ensure they reflect on what they have learnt and how effective the session was. Not only does this solidify the information for the students but also provides me with feedback of the sessions. When it comes to fixtures, I give the students an opportunity to remember what we worked on during the week. Having a positive yet realistic attitude is an effective tool for successful leading. I ensure we have all the necessary information about the opposition and then provide my team with a clear, motivational team-talk, confirming that every player is happy with the game ahead. • Contracted Bar/ Waitress
      • Jun 2016 - Sep 2017

When working as a contracted bartender I am expected to deliver a high standard of customer service at premium weddings, racecourses, and other high-end functions across Essex. I am able to develop professional relationships immediately with people who I have never worked with before. This has opened my personality and increased my confidence when approaching new people. I have been able to work on my first impressions and how to present myself to my best. During my time working here I have built a variety of professional relationships along side strong friendships. I am incredibly reliable and punctual; I am expected to arrive at venues I have never been to before on a weekly basis and work long shifts with people I have never previously met. Since working for Rayment’s I have become independent, versatile and am able use my initiative when carrying out tasks in busy unfamiliar environments. In addition I was trusted to undertake monetary customer transactions at various venues. Working at such a wide range of venues has educated me in identifying what different customers want and need. It has widened my cultural awareness as I have interacted with various people from around the world. Keeping an open mind has helped to avoid any misunderstandings that can occur as beliefs and values represent a person's culture Show less

    • Bartender/ Waitress
      • Mar 2016 - Sep 2017

I ran the bar on busy Friday and Saturday nights, during weddings, birthdays and other functions; this demonstrates a sense of urgency when needed, in addition to, my organisation and efficiency skills that were displayed when taking leadership in the evenings. I learnt how to deliver a high standard of customer service within busy and high stress environments. I was recognised as a key calm member of staff that people came to for advice in stressful situations. I established a high level of teamwork with effective communication with other staff members including; kitchen staff, catering and ‘front of house’. I was able to engage with the public and guests providing assistance and guidance where required. I was recognised as being diligent and adaptable when switching between tasks where necessary, for example: between the bar, front of house or restaurant. In addition I was frequently asked to stay on shift for longer hours. During my time working for REIDS bar I have learnt how to adapt my personality to a variety of customers. When difficult situations occurred I was able to use my initiative and deal with them and the customer in a calm and professional mannor. It has developed my communication skills considerably along side my personal presentation. It has also helped me to progress my understanding with cash flow, profitability and tax liabilities when carrying out monetary tractions and stock flow. My mental maths as also developed which helped me to speed up transaction times and in turn serve more customers. Show less
