Surrounded by picturesque views of the tree-lined countryside, these 677 acres, nestled in the beautiful Lucia Valley of Southwest Washington, has been our family’s home since 1910. In 2020 the winery became wholly family owned and operated through a buyout of outside investors. We continue to operate independently and as a separate business from the Pomeroy Living History Farm located on the same property. I am our Operation Manager and handle anything that does not involve winemaking including managing our tasting room and our 4-bedroom short term rental. Show less

    • Fish Passage Technician (Contract Position)
      • 2014 - 2014

Working in both the field and the office, I worked with another team member to implement a fish passage inventory in the Wind River watershed. I identified possible stream, wetland and other restoration projects. The fish passage inventory largely took place on private lands, which required contacting and securing landowner permission for surveys. The WDFW protocol was used to conduct passage barrier surveys and subsequent habitat surveys. ArcMAP was used to track surveys and barrier locations and Microsoft Access was used for database purposes. In addition to the Fish Passage work, I conducted Water Quality sampling (Fecal Coliform, DO, pH, Conductivity etc) in the White Salmon Watershed on a biweekly basis. I also assisted in stream restoration, cross section assessment and elctro-fishing while at UCD. Show less

Working primarily in the field, I collaborated with USGS to conduct a study of alternative gear feasibility and mortality rates using PIT tags and Radio Telemetry. Mobile tracking was used via boat in the Columbia River with fish being monitored for 24 hours after release; fixed sites were used beyond the initial 24 hours. I conducted commercial sampling of adult salmonids including species identification, taking biological samples, scales and scanning for PIT tags and CWT. I monitored commercial fishing of alternative gear (Seine Net, Tangle Net), recording data about fishing location, time, species retained and mortality rates of non-target species. I conducted spawning ground surveys in regional streams in all weather events on a rotating schedule. I also identified redds based on species and tracked them throughout the season, data was collected at each redd so another surveyor would be able to locate at another time if needed, biological sampling was conducted on carcasses found on stream surveys. Adult Salmonid Identification of Chinook, Coho, Pink, Sockeye and Steelhead. Show less
