Business office staff obtains pre-authorizations, performs procedure and risk adjustment coding, posts receipts, follows-up on claims, and pursues patient balances. -Lead the quality team comprised of AAPC certified coders. Increase the practice’s revenue by meeting the numerous value-based goals set by insurance plans. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of MIPS, accountable care organizations, shared savings, risk coding, CAHPS surveys, and other payer-specific arrangements. Collaborate with the Clinical Manager to steer the nursing staff to meet our goals. -Personally negotiate insurance contracts and monitor insurance payments to ensure negotiated amounts are being paid in full. Recover underpayments by providing complete spreadsheets of underpaid claims. -Produce analysis about the financial impact of operational and strategic changes, such as whether to add new providers or service lines and whether to change provider schedules or schedule templates. -Serve as the billing compliance officer for the practice.
