  Welcome to Zanzibar Bandas Zanzibar Bandas is a stunning and intimate destination offering seven rooms with a 16-person capacity. Located on a gorgeous white sandy beach on Zanzibar’s eastern coast in Matemwe village, the hotel is built of exclusively environmentally friendly, locally sourced materials. Three coconut timber and traditional palm-thatched roof bungalows stand directly on the beach, offering idyllic views of the turquoise Indian Ocean with the Mnemba atoll in the distance. Each bungalow’s spacious interior features a traditional four-poster bed with mosquito net, hand-crafted furniture and a pristine. The Western-style bathroom offers all modern conveniences as well as an exotic touch - palm trees protruding through the ceiling. The bungalow terrace is where you’ll take in an expansive view of the beach, blue-green ocean and barrier reef. No need to go far for rest and recreation – a sweet water pool surrounded by a lush tropical garden with beach chairs, hammocks and futons perfect for reading or relaxing to the music gently drifting in from the bar is right behind the bungalows. Our restaurant serves only local products, bought fresh after consulting with our guests; such as tropical fruit, fish and seafood straight from the ocean, organic vegetables, all of it served in a harmonious bevy of spices. After all, Zanzibar is also called Spice Island. Our garden and pool view rooms include a 50 m2/540 sq. ft. family room with an ample private terrace with ocean views and two comfortable bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. These are perfect for e.g. active individuals such as surfers and divers, ready to soak up the location’s vibe after a day’s activity.
